I've seen this one cause the reverse black screen in newer VDA's 🙂 https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX235681
This applied to me in my enviroment.

awesome thanks guys! i'll check both out. so the HKCU key @Ray Davis mentioned......i wonder if i can send that via WEM?
r
That is what I do now.
a
bad ass thanks!
r
I do a external task that does this in WEM
reg export HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UFH\SHC c:\users\%username%\documents\SHC.reg /y reg delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UFH\SHC /f rem https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX212905
could be a better way? James my know of in WEM but I did this as a external task that calls a CMD file
a
@Ray Davis thank you for that! i will definitely give that a whirl this morning
r
Hope it helps
a
so we dont use Citrix UPM....just the app layering user layer so i wonder if that would still apply to us
r
We dont either, But the Key is really around MS. Not Citrix related. But hinders Citrix becasue of the OS
a
so did you just kill the contents of SHC key and done with it then?
r
Here is MS Link. Older but This might give you a peace of Mind showing its really related with OS. https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/3161390/slow-logon-with-a-blank-screen-in-windows-7-or-windows-8-1
Yes I deleted that key. But for me it keeps coming back. So I use FSlogix, and excluding that key doesnt seem to work. So WEM just runs and deletes it every time the WEM agent reshreshes. Thats why I didnt select run once.
a
awesome thanks man! i'll give it a whirl
r
Cool
a
thanks guys! i put both suggestions in place and so far looking good.....i get a black screen for about 3 sec or so but thats about it so not bad ! i'm also setting the DelayedDesktopSwitchTimeout reg key too to speed things up which has helped a lot w/ login speeds. once the desktops loads it takes another 5 sec before you see tray icons and taskbar icons load....i'm not sure what that delay is but nothing terrible
