No it's only used for Citrix

No everything is installed on one server

Well, from what I can see the "LocalDB" is when you are running your site in SQL Express

localDB is used for LHC only i believe, if you have SQL express hosting your actual DB's, the guidance is to install a new instance, detach DB, restore DB, and update strings https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/upgrade-migrate/upgrade.html not sure if you could get away with an in place upgrade shrugs....it's on my lab to do list at some point
