I had something simular in the past, i end up to put those machine in folder on vcenter and scheduled there. (I hope i did understand your question right)

04/15/2020, 8:46 PM@Tim Riegler gave me a wonderful script as well. Its really nice. I have to tweak it around my enviroment, but it send message to users, give them time to save work, logs them out, Put machiens in maintenace mode. Reboots, turns off Maint mode. Send emails
