Honestly, the documentation is a little confusing. The CWA docs make it sound like it'll upgrade RTME if an older version is found, but if no version is found, nothing is installed? Then I find this note about it possibly being included in Receiver 4.12: https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/receiver/windows/current-release/install.html

they had releases of the receiver with RTME included yes, those were always seperate downloads though, the standard base version never included RTME. I personally prefer seperate installers due to the mix &match, you can have restrictions on the version of receiver for types of addons/plugins and still want to go latest RTME for example
Teams optimization is built-in so in the future it will be single installer anyway apparently 😉

Yeah, and that's nice, but we're being asked to roll out HDX RTOP right now (so dumb). I was hoping it would have been included, or at least have a separate download that combined the two.

We had a Receiver+RTME package a couple of years ago, but we no longer have one. So at the moment, you need to deploy Workspace app and RTME with separate installers.

I was going to to package a custom one and install via storefront but the signing of the app was a PITA so just dropped the idea.

you could convert a ps1 into an exe and that exe could download and install receiver/rtme and visual c++ using Evergreen/VCRedist module
I have a script that I have been working now but it does require more work
