We have something similar happening, and in our case, the issue doesn't happen if you connect from a Citrix Gateway / ICA proxy, but it happen on the LAN. Is it similar for you?
n
This app is only ever accessed via our internal network, so no gateway or anything in between. Straight from the device to Storefront
o
UDP or TCP?
n
All TCP
And I just came across this in the event log: HDX Mediastream failed to establish mediastream connection.
Looks like I'll be capturing some CDF traces
o
Please let me know we experience the same issue, if someone plays an embedded video the sound works but after that the sounds stops working.... Our VDA is out of support so we couldn't get help from Citrix.
But if we use an ICA proxy connection, no issues.
n
Sounds like the same issue. This is on 1912 LTSR CU3.
o
our VDA is 2003
But you could try EDT/UDP, since we have switched to that people don't complain about it recently. We have switched to EDT/UDP two weeks ago.
n
That's definitely on my list of things to try. This issue doesn't happen on all devices, just ones in a particular group. Even though they all run the same image and have the same apps, and are the same hardware model. Makes no sense.
o
Check in Director if they are using UDP or TCP, Just to rule this out.
n
We have Adaptive Transport disabled via policy, so I know they can't be using UDP.
o
If you have narrowed it down to a particular group, you can double check this.
n
It's time for me to turn off my computer and forget about work until Monday, so I'll resume then. If I find anything at all, I'll post back. We already submitted Citrix Workspace app and VDA CDF traces to Citrix, so maybe that'll come in handy.
o
There is of course the CWA version, I am deploying CWA 2112 broadly so in my case we now use UDP and CWA 2112, and we had no complains in the last 2 weeks
n
We're on CWA 2107 right now, but pushing out 2112.1 next week.
o
Ok, let us know, have a good weekend 🙂
yes maybe CWA 2112.1 is the answer
n
We want to test a few things before we upgrade CWA on one of the test devices. The fact that this appears to be working on some devices is what's driving us nuts.
o
I know, same here
we just had to move forward, protocol and CWA
n
Yeah, we've been gun shy on UDP because of issues with Macs. At the very least, if UDP works, we can enable it for that delivery group for the time being, until we move everyone to it.
o
With Mac we have issues, especially with iMac / Retina Display and the H264 codec, I am using ThinWire static display for them, otherwise it gets blurry and impossible for them to work.
But UDP is a great improvement on the LAN, otherwise.
