u mean custom reports?
a
Most important: automatically scheduled. “Set and forget”. Example: generate report once per day to deliver some detail/data etc.
s
Not sure its possible with director

Doesn't Director have odata API that you could automate?
a
Citrix should create “user friendly” interface instead of wasting our time to deal with API… 😉
j
There is a user friendly interface for custom reports that shows the odata query. Just need to script and schedule it.
a
Cusom reports are really cool and I’m using a lot. I’m looking for way to “schedule” reports and send it via email automatically? This is what I’m looking for.
j
There used to be a tool from Citrix but that was before custom reports tab in Director and I don't think that tool works anymore.
a
True however Citrix didn't integrate it to Director and it's gone… not working anymore.
j
They did partially integrate it into Director that’s the custom reports tab. They just didn't add the schedule and email option.
a
You are absolutely right. Adding this functionality shouldn't be difficult for Citrix. I don't know why they didn't do it. Similar situation with “Probe Results” - they just started new functionality and it's not fully developed. I can see lots of missing things and at the end it's useless.
j
I can give feedback via CTP. You should also submit a feature request via your Citrix channels.

I will do it. Thanks! 👍

Literally was looking for the same thing a month or two ago, we've been able to send alerts by email in director for years so why not the same sitch for custom reports. Discovered the tomb stoned tool as well, looked at procmon to see if I could see anything obviously running to replicate when I ran a report but found nothing too useful. Seeing as it's not just me looking at this I'll raise it with our TAM's.

Please raise feature request to make “presure” on Citrix and maybe some day they will add such functionality. It's not very complicated for Citrix to realize it.
d
Indeed not, one thing I noticed at a previous job was creating custom reports in cloud director every so often they would disappear and I would have to set them up again, think they fixed it before I moved on but might mean there's something user centric that has put this in the "too hard" bucket for them. I'll have another poke about and see if I can make anything else out. Even if they just pick up that tool again and make it work it would be something.

I have notice they will add things back if the customer demand is high. But that was a couple years ago.
