You cab akwys use the built-in LOGGOFF command in Windows. LOGOFF [sessionname | sessionid] [/SERVER:servername] [/V] [/VM] sessionname The name of the session. sessionid The ID of the session. /SERVER:servername Specifies the Remote Desktop server containing the user session to log off (default is current). /V Displays information about the actions performed. /VM Logs off a session on server or within virtual machine. The unique ID of the session needs to be specified.

I want to create a script and hand it over to our L1 support. That powershell command log off user session as if user logs off the app. our L1 support guys have access to the app. I am not sure if they can run logoff command. Also, they may run the script on different devices too..

Spencer's suggestion would work via a script, or use this tool and teach the users to logoff their own sessions: https://www.jhouseconsulting.com/2020/08/28/citrix-self-service-session-reset-tool-2106

We have 6 apps that our management wants us to monitor closely. our L1 team launches those apps every 2 hours and verifies if they are launching properly. I am now, trying to automate it. With some automation, I am able to launch the app and logoff the browser. If any app launch fails, it sends an email with that app name. Only the desktops are not logging off. Thats the issue I have now. I dont want to ask my L1 team to logoff the apps manually.
Interestingly, $icaclient.disconnect() is working fine. Only $icaclient.logoff() is not working and thats what I want..

So you want this to work from the client side? I don't have the experience to help there, but there are several examples out there: https://github.com/squaredup/Community.Citrix.LogonSim.MP/blob/master/Client%20Files/Monitoring/Citrix/Scripts/Test-CitrixApp.ps1 I've noticed they all have the StartMonitoringCCMSession and StopMonitoringCCMSession before and after the LogOff attempt.
Copy code
$icaClient.StartMonitoringCCMSession($sessionid,$true)
$icaClient.Logoff()
$icaClient.StopMonitoringCCMSession($sessionid);

I have tried by adding the CCM session too but that did not work.
