Just my 2 cents on optimizations. There are some 'generic' optimizations that should be applied, but really, you should do an evaluation based on the applications and user requirements. Think about Lockdown profiles (Security), You might make a system completely secure, but wind up breaking some functionality that the users or applications need. The same can be said for performance optimizations. Setting a registry or disabling a service might be a generic recommendation to improve performance, but if it breaks some function, then it doesn't really improve user experience. That's why the Citrix optimizer uses templates, but allows and recommends that you review each setting and what it does so that you can decide which ones work best for you particular use cases. Too many times do I see people just apply a template and not review the settings before implementing
