Why are we still baby-sitting the Citrix License Server in 2026?
Is it just me, or is the dedicated License Server becoming a legacy burden we don’t need anymore?
Now that traditional file-based licensing is effectively being superseded by LAS (Licensing Activation Service), keeping a separate VM just to heartbeat some tokens feels like architectural technical debt.
Why hasn't this been baked directly into the Delivery Controller (DDC) yet? It seems like a no-brainer for HA and simplicity.
Are we looking at a looming "License Server End-of-Life" where Citrix finally forces a move to a new CVAD version with built-in LAS integration at the DDC level? Or is there a genuine technical reason to keep this separate "middleman" alive?

I think it makes sense for 1. Security, this License server needs Internet connection, it acts as a proxy. 2. Not all have CVAD, even though, most do, I wouldn't want them to go to Internet.
