Licensing issue today I wanted to ask around about. Customer is 2402 cu3 on-prem. We flipped them over to LAS a couple of weeks ago. Today they had some type of blip, where their license server wasn't accessible from their Delivery Controllers. We see the Broker Service reporting that loss of contact. We see the message saying they have 718 hours to get it back online. But here is the thing. No one could login. We got unlicensed capacity messages across 2 different farms. The connection came back in under 15 minutes to the license server and everything was fine again. Anyone have any idea what happened? Is the cached license function broken? I personally have stopped my license server services for weeks testing the local cached license mode in my lab, and had no issues.

We had this issue too, no idea of the cause.

If anyone has a 2402 cu3 deployment with LAS, can you try stopping your Citrix Licensing Services and see if users can connect when in that cached mode.

Interesting. Following this to see if it pans out. I run that, but I can't impact my users in that way if it breaks.

I had a similar issue during a large network outbreak, the cache mode didn't kick in and I could see session failure due to the license. I didn't capture the logs nor raise it with Citrix this time.

I tried mocking it up in my lab, can't replicate it. Ugh.

That's perfect. It knows the difference between prod and test/dev. 🙂

Running the latest version of the license server?
You need to stay up to date within 6 months

yup
Ok, found out more. Citrix LAS service in the cloud had an outage on Thursday morning, and instead of grace period working, it prevented connections. There is a private fix you can get to prevent this from happening in the future.

Is the fix for the license server or for CVAD? I have also experienced occasional interruptions in multiple environments. Event 1163: No connection license availiable.

It is a delivery controller hotfix.
