I'd like to shamelessly bump this topic because it's still incredibly relevant and we're still clueless. On top of that, the next customer has another requirement and is demanding the "Windows App" on their RDSH desktop.

Not sure if you are interested in this approach, but have a look at AppVentiX, You can also manage store apps centrally, MSIX, AppV etc.

I'm not primarily looking for a commercial solution, but rather want to understand the problem and the challenges so I can make informed decisions. P.S.: I haven't made any progress with my question, and my level of knowledge remains the same as when I first sent my message.

MSIX isn't a great solution. I've seen very few people manage to embrace it

I have three "use-cases" 1. We have a CVAD customer, who has to launch a AVD remote app on Citrix from his/her customer. And as the MSI for AVD is dead, he/she now needs the "Windows App MSIX" on CVAD. 2. We have a CVAD customer who demands WhatsApp Desktop, which is an MSIX. 3. We have a vendor who only publishes his app as MSIX, no other setup provided anymore. This three "use-cases" cost me a LOT of time, compared to hundreds of MSI apps in my MDT Task sequence.

1. Use the web interface? 2. Put it on fully-persistent desktops and auto-update 3. As above

@Marco Hofmann did you find a solution?
m
No.
Although @Stephan Sprathoff found an Open Source (?) Website, that can extract store msix data as json objects. We plan a PoC to test Update automation build on this. But currently I'm on vacation.

Grab a beer, on my account then 🙂
