Turned of EDT, boom. Why the Improvement Happened • With Adaptive Transport = Preferred (default/no policy), Workspace app tries EDT (UDP) first with a ~500 ms head-start, then falls back to TCP if UDP fails or times out. In your case, UDP "succeeds eventually" (EDT active in prior sessions, low post-connect RTT), but the initial EDT negotiation/handshake stalls or retries, adding 10–20+ s delay before completing HDX channel setup. • Setting to Off skips the EDT attempt entirely → direct TCP connection (1494/2598) → no negotiation overhead → faster HDX Connect. • Citrix docs confirm this: "Off" forces TCP-only and "optimizes connection time" when UDP/EDT has issues or fallback would otherwise delay. • Common in internal/LAN-like setups (your 1 ms latency path) where EDT's benefits are minimal, but its setup can introduce unnecessary delays — especially on newer OS like Windows Server 2025 VDAs.
