Got an NSConsole on CompanyA which hosts flexed Licenses. What is the best way to get the netscaler at SubCompanyB licenced without giving them nsroot credentials of NSC, or knowing their nsroot-PW? I tried to set the license server on a test device via shell:
add ns licenseserver <adm-agent-IP-address>
set ns capacity -unit gbps -bandwidth 1 edition platinum
and it checks out the license without any authentification, just port 443 opened to NSC?! So a sub company can be funny and request 100 GBPs with this command and the NSC would just say "hmm - ok here you got"?

It should show in the NetScaler Console as a “Grace License” which is only good for a short period unless the bandwidth is applied from the NetScaler Console.

@Richard Faulkner, are you sure? Do you have a reference for this? We have configured all environments just by allocating the license from NetScaler, nothing from the cloud-side (except for ofc the actual installed licenses)

i also cannot see any hint on "grace" period. Just an "unmanged" license entry (wihout any information of bandwith capacity on NSC-side) and a fully licensed ADC:

Interesting. I don’t have screenshots but my previous escapades making the blog post I saw “Grace Period” in a yellow bar at the top of the screen on the VPX and same in the managed section in the licensing on the console.
Actually, I do have a reference. In my blog about using the built in agent it shows this image of the grace period. I wonder if the behavior changed.
Doesn’t look like the image copied properly but if you scroll down on the blog, you can clearly see the device is listed as “Grace Period”.
