Has anyone seen any slow down since moving to server 2022? I had it running for a while now and so far even with various optimizations its still much slower than previous OSes (logon time and general performance). What are your optimizations steps for 2022? Or is everyone on VDI's now? š

Each new version is worst in terms of performance and user density. So, we have to deal with it Iād say, no matter the optimizations you put in place.

did not seem bad with previous server OSes. and I have been using 2003 and up...

I've done testing on this and every new OS takes more resources, bigger process footprint, more storage, slower logons. If you run them on the same hardware, you'll see huge slowdowns. Of course, as they add more features to the OS this is what happens, but to that sort of degree it is still very disappointing. Here's some (unoptimized) logon stats from Windows NT through Windows 10

Have you been able to optimize Server 2022? Besides adding auto logon?

Unfortunately the testing I showed there was done about 2018 so the last two iterations are not there

Same here, any kind of solution?

not really. ran optimizer and using Citrix Layering (not sure if this helps or makes things slower). Probably need to add autologon and do a deeper dive into what is taking place
