NetScaler SFP question. Can we use Cisco 25G SFP modules? Or does Citrix only allow THEIR SFTP modules at a monstrous markup. I know they allowed Cisco twinax DAC in the past.

only THEIR SFP modules. otherwise you are out of support.

"works" and "voids warranty" are 2 completely different things. I would be utterly shocked if other SFPs didn't work fine in there. You can get them programed with the microcode needed for most other systems through a third party like AMC and FS.

If I'm not mistaken, one of my customers uses SFP modules from FS.
Just confirmed it with the customer, they have the generic SFP+ modules from FS in their NetScalers, and they work better than the ones provided by Citrix 👍

The NetScaler SFP's are literally the same ones as Cisco. If you research the part number, they're made in the same place etc. But, it will still show up as an unsupported SFP. It comes down to this, if you call support and it is a physical interface issue, they will ask you to swap it out for an "official" Citrix SFP. So, if you use Cisco but have one or two Citrix ones, you can operate fine and still get support.

I had issues with non Citrix SFP but yeah that's racket
