Recently we made some changes to our terminal servers, and after this, published applications are acting wonky. VDA was upgraded to 2402 LTSR CU1, Wem version 2407 implemented, and we also implemented Citrix profile containers. After this change, one issue is that you can often see parts of application that are underneath the active application. For example, user has launched both app A and app B. App A is in fullscreen, but parts of app B is visible through app A, and if you click on any of these visible parts, it will take you to application B. Users are also randomly seeing black lines/boxes. Pictures attached for example to better illustrate our issue. Any ideas what could cause this? It was never a problem until after we made these changes. It happens to quite a lot of the different published applications, and is not an issue in full desktop.

You using containers for the published apps too?
p
Yes :)

Hmmm. Sounds like a graphics issue TBF but I've never been a fan of doing containers for published apps unless absolutely necessary. If they're running on the same hosts then they're generally ok, but not if you're jumping across multiple servers with the same container

We use containers for published apps, but force users to a single session always. ReadOnly containers caused issues with some apps losing settings and I never wanted them to begin with, but there were occasions where they would show up. Citrix listened to a suggestion we (and probably others) had where we can prevent RO containers now and force logout if they would be created. As for the graphic issues, first would be to ensure that you are on a recent version of Citrix Workspace. Have found the current releases aren't as reliable with 2402 LTSR CU1 as the LTSR version of CWA. Also, look at the workstation drivers and make sure they are updated. Intel IRIS drivers are a major pain point. Some GPU drivers have also had some issues like these, but I don't have details handy at the moment for what was done to resolve them.

In this environment we need to use profile containers. I did try to change the setting from IDD to DOD as @Jeff Riechers suggested, but sadly it didn't have an impact. Updating GPU drivers and running CWA 2402 LTSR CU1 sadly didn't have an impact either. Some (crucial) information which i forgot to add in the initial post is that a lot of the applications are accessed ica-ica as we have two different citrix farms, so that complicates things slightly.

Test out 2402 cu2. It fixes some graphics, redraw, and other issues with apps.

I tested out CU2 as well, but the issue is still there. Really strange
