For those with Multisession hosts, do you have TSFairShare enabled or disabled?

this is curious one as my understanding is really anything new I haven't worried about disabling it whereas old Server OS for example, i used to disable it, but realized a time back, that sort of guidance fell off in newer OS so I haven't been worrying about. Would be curious to hear from others if they have seen any advantage or good reason to disable it now with Citrix on top.
p
Generally we have it disabled but as Oz says it may be more of a legacy requirement.

I used to as well, it’s not something I focus on either. It’s in the bag if needed and last thought these days

Install mode anyone? Change user /install

r
I don’t personally

Ha. Pretty much all apps now don't need that and intelligently figure it out for Multi session but could be old crap that still needs that special registry place. But honestly not something I have ran in quite some time now for that and seems to be fine for anything now. Back in XenApp days with 6 and 6.5 and old apps back then I did that every time for sure

Back in the day…. app compatibility scripts and UsrLogon.cmd. I just realized I’ve been doing this Citrix thing for 25 years. Ouch.
o
Oh man yep. Good old usrlogon.cmd.

Haha, 😂

This thread makes me old.

If your using wem cpu optimisation it has to be disabled for wem to do its thing. I would normally disable anyway.

I'm in fintech and install mode is still a requirement with some apps. Most modern and public apps do not require it. I haven't set TSFairShare for a while now. I stopped disabling IPv6 until it got me in trouble with PVS targets blue screening a couple years back.

@Brandon Mitchell 34+ years for me!!! An employer back in the 80s was an alpha tester for MultiUSER based on the original OS/2

@Webster Webster, but now you’re a recovering Citrix admin in retirement. I have FOMO.

Retired from EUC work, well kinda sorta last June 30th. I will fully retire on December 31, 2024
