Nice. Trying to change from CPU licensing to Pooled.. even if I release the license and then try allocating it, it gives me this
... doable with HA, but requires plenty of reboots

Had a chat with the NetScaler PMs and informed them that the GUI has challenges when switching to Flex licensing. Also, Licensing should not be a labor-intensive function. I don't need to know that I paid for my licenses. They need to know it so the effort and the cost of proving the license should be on NetScaler, not the customer.

I couldn't agree more. This change should be pretty much effortless for the customers. Now it's consuming time (= money). Also, when doing this stuff the first time, one needs to go through quite a bit of documentation and have pretty good understanding of the potential dangers in the change (for example, converting an MPX box from perpetual license to flexed requires one to drop the Zero capacity license in to the box, which drops all the features incl. ssl offload... in case of a HA failover, this could lead to a disaster and loosing all the cfgs)

Yes. You have to be very careful.
k
I bet there will be a lot of issues with the switch to new licensing
r
And if you’re a CSP, even worse.
k
We are... pretty much switching customer to their own licenses from our CSP lics
... speaking of the devil... the first environment switched from vCPU lics to flexed stopped working
ns.conf backup comparison doesn't show any differences and the only problem is that the users cannot connect using full workspace app, with html5 everything works
wasn't netscaler -related, but all the suspicions ofc pointed to ns
r
Of course.
