I'm not sure if anyone has any ideas about this but as we're building our new Win 11 image (MCS persistent), i'm finding after the first logon to a new VM for a user, they get the desktop to launch pretty quickly (welcome screen is about 5-7 seconds and they get to the desktop/taskbar main screen. however they cannot interact w/ the Start Menu or explorer for a good 30 more seconds for some reason. after about 30 seconds i see the start button "twinkle" a little and then all is good. i'm not sure what phase of the login that 30 second window is or how to find what is going on in the background that is causing it ....curious if anyone has any ideas that might lead me in the right direction. we saw the same thing in Win 10 as well

I think I recall seeing an article on what the Start menu is doing on first login to explain this, but unfortunately I can’t find it now

no problem thanks for checking! and the weird thing is the first login is fine ....its everyone after
i maybe figured it out.......i remembed WEM and its good so must be either something i have assigned there or a configuration setting
ok yup it seems like its the "Process Registry Values" function of WEM thats the issue. even if i have NO registry actions assigned , it stalls the start menu / explorer from working for 10-15 seconds. i'm not sure if thats 'by design' or if its a bug or something else off but i'm not sure what to do w/ that now as we do use that functionality for a few "run once" tasks. now that i have it narrowed down i probably should have this in the WEM page i realize too
