Working with customers to move their NetScalers (Physical) to a new data center and switching. Shutting down the secondary NetScaler and issuing "shutdown now -h" gives a message, "Are you sure you want to completely halt the NetScaler (Y/N)?" and I answer yes. Log in to the out of band and the NetScaler is not powered off. Is this expected? Am I wrong in thinking the halt switch is supposed to power the device off?

Halt just stops the OS but doesn’t power off (?), try ”shutdown -p now” instead

Does that need to be run from the shell? Maybe I've gotten spoiled on VPXs as that command powers them off. At least I seem to remember it did.

No need for shell, CLI works also

Does shell - poweroff command work?

FYI, -p failed as well.
