Hi all, I have a customer who has disabled auto updates for M365 apps for Enterprise via the click2run xml/install config as well as GPO/ADMX. They update their Citrix image each month using the monthly enterprise channel (to match physical machines). This works as intended but if an office update becomes available in between image update cycles, users can still click 'update now' from within an Office app. Is there a way to remove this option/block installs? cheers

i use a reg key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\common\officeupdate] "enableautomaticupdates"=dword:00000000 "hideupdatenotifications"=dword:00000001 "officemgmtcom"=dword:00000000

You can also use a GPO, i believe it's called "Hide option to enable or disable updates"
i prefer GPP as well, but GPO is also an option

Thanks Lads, the Hide option to enable or disable updates is enabled. There is no option to disable or enable... and updates will not be installed.. the challenge we are seeing is that once updates are detected there is no way to hide/disable the 'Update Now' button.. Much less of an issue on semi annual as the window for an update becoming available between image patch cycles is much smaller...
I dont think this one is in place: "officemgmtcom"=dword:00000000
Will have a look at that...
