The Java: If I launch it locally, it works fine, no issues, etc....But when I launch it thru Citrix, it says a DLL is missing. Also, if I publish a entire desktop, it works fine so it doesnt seem to be a permissions issue
j
Did you try to publish it with running explorer first?
b
My current method of launching it is calling javaws.exe....How do I do it running explorer first or what exactly do you mean?
j
As it works is full desktop, maybe this app needs the explorer or something else loaded by the desktop. What .dll is missing? You can create a script that you publish as an app and you start the explorer.exe and then your javaw.exe app.
b
But how do I close Explorer? I don't want a window open in the background
j
For now it's just a test and you shouldn't see the explorer.
b
Ok, so you want me to publish Explorer and go to (for example) desktop and launch it from there. Now I understand
OK so I published Windows Explorer. I made a shortcut to open and same thing happens
j
OK what DLL error do you get? I published my java with Path = javaws.exe Command line = http://website/java.jnlp and working directory is the path of javaws.exe. How do you publish yours?
b
Same. I do a no Splash screen just for the fuck of it but....that's shouldn't make any difference as it tries to open it and just says a library is missing
j
Maybe try without it, who knows. What library is missing?
b
Swt-win32.dll
Remember I launch it the same way in a full desktop session and rdp and it works
j
Yes I remember that. I wonder if it's a path issue. Try to set the working directory to where this .dll is, maybe the user profile. It must be about how the apps is started as a pub app vs the desktop. If you create a shortcut in the desktop as set in your pub app, does it work?
b
, yeah, that's exactly what I do...make a shortcut that is the same as my Citrix published app .. nothing
j
Well tricky, maybe a procmon could help.
b
I'm actually doing that 😊 No work until Tuesday though. How do I compare the two?
j
You'll have to see where it break vs the working one, filter on the process and use the time to narrow down the breaking point. And hopefully you will find something useful.
