Hi @John Gallacher - you had a storage failure for 1 of your storage providers in a Cloud Cache config? Or was the configuration only using a single storage provider?
j
Hey @Jason Parker - 1 of 3 providers has been offline for around 3 weeks. Its not back in action but the profile containers are large and lots of data to sync. We want to preseed as just re-enabling will kill performance, cheers
j
Yeah, makes sense. Would you like to see this as a feature? How useful would it be?
b
I think that would be a very useful feature
j
@Jason Parker 100%. Ive had at least 5 occasions across multiple clients in the last 2 years where a failed share coming back online days / weeks later causes havoc if not carefully managed. A controlled sync / throttling feature would be ideal, cheers

It is quite the tricky situation, but I had a chat with our dev and started a conversation.

Thanks man, I get its not designed for long-term share outage. In reality, that happens so it would be good for a feature to protect against issues when bringing share/locations back online, cheers

Bvckup2 is your friend John, will run on open files and will re-sync all your containers for you. Well worth the very small price tag to grab this tool. As always, let me know if you need a hand fella.

Thanks, Lee. I will give it whirl. Do you know if the 2 week trial has all features with no limits? I could test drive with this one I need to sort, cheers
l
I believe it does, awesome tool. You'll love it.
j
We have it running in some AU clients but Ive never seen it. Kindon used to rave about it 🙂

It's rave worthy! ðŸĪŠ

I can also confirn Bvckup2 is amazing. I've never used it for Cloud Cache personally, but I was so impressed with it that I bought it for myself outside of work. An amazing replication tool. Set and Forget
