Excluding Server 2019. šŸ˜ž

Server 2019 was really the next Windows ME. Even out of the gate, all the issues with RDS and Search, etc etc...

Sucks if you got alot of customers on server 2019 and they want to use the new version of MS Teams with Fslogix

I have a metric fuckton of clients on server 2019....

^^
I have 50 customers on server 2016 that are using teams...looks like June is going to be fun šŸ™‚
t
I'm using this as a excuse to get rid of teams on Citrix. If they insist on using teams on citrix and not on their laptop, they will have to use the web version.
m
just to be clear - the article states: Users connecting to virtual desktops running on Windows Server 2019 are unable to launch or use new Teams. Are there some more details? Teams launches with a new profile just fine, only when deleting AppData\Local (logon / logoff without keeping local_%username%) i get this error at logon: Terminating and re-starting teams works.
j
Can you give me an output from console for: fltmc
m
obviously "Terminating and re-starting teams works." is not true. It just works the first time. However I am in contact with a workmate, that "uses new teams on 2019 with fslogix since a few weeks without an issue". I will try to get more information on that..
j
Do you use OneDrive or plan to use OneDrive?
m
yes?
j
Is OneDrive signed in on this session from your screenshot? It doesn't appear so...
m
i cant provide you the fltmc from the current user bc it need administrative rights. OneDrive is now opened and authenticated.
j
and does Teams still work? the fltmc is machine wide and not session specific
m
in runtime yes (teams started before runtime) but now i got the point: When authenticated to Onedrive Teams wont reopen again and loggs Aplication Error 1000
so thats also the explanation why it works partly at on of my customers: He does not use onedrive on RDSHs atm.
j
This is all expected behavior. 1. User signs in (OD not signed in, but installed - silent account config disabled) 2. User launches new Teams or it auto launches...doesn't matter 3. New Teams launches fine 4. User tries to use OD and has to sign in 5. New Teams still works 6. Sign out and back in 7. OD starts in background 8. Teams won't start - App Error 1000
This is the core of the issue with Server 2019 as "most" customers using Teams also use OneDrive. There is a filesystem filter driver interaction between wcifs, frxdrvvt, and CldFlt that we are deep into the weeds trying to understand.
Doesn't have to be OneDrive, but if you use anything that relies on CldFlt - teams will not launch
m
Ah ty very much, that was the missing information I was looking for šŸ‘šŸ»
j
ok...happy to help šŸ™ŒšŸ»
r
What else relies on CldFlt?
j
Couldn't tell ya - CldFlt is the CloudFiles filter driver. My guesses? • Dropbox • Google Drive • etc...
e
Already a newer version FSLogix_Apps_2.9.8784.63912.zip
m
newer version? That was exactly the version mentioned in the kb?

Thanks for the clarification, I swear I clicked a link that went to #2
@Jason Parker For AVD Multisession, is it recommended or required to reboot after the installation? It has already been pushed and installed, might need a custom install script to restart the service if required.
j
@Eric - Sorry for the confusion. I hadn't removed the download center link for the original preview of hotfix 3 and you must of had the old link. The docs are correct and the preview version has been unpublished. Apologies šŸ˜‰ Yes, you must reboot because FSLogix installs a filesystem driver. • How to Install • Installation FAQ Also a few handy URLs: • https://aka.ms/fslogix-latest (MS download center link) • https://aka.ms/fslogix_download (Direct link to the latest zip)
