FYI this is still a thing on 2203 CU3 +, Just went through it. Supposed to be fixed in CU2. But the work around seems good. https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX338807/users-may-fail-to-reconnect-or-start-a-new-session-on-virtual-apps-and-shared-desktop [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Ica\GroupPolicy] "EnforceUserPolicyEvaluationSuccess"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Reconnect] "FastReconnect"=dword:00000000 2203 LTSR issues - Page 7 - XenApp 7.x - Discussions (citrix.com) https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX256900 https://discussions.citrix.com/topic/416254-2203-ltsr-issues/page/7/#comment-2094732>

Hey Ray, I solved it. Apparently 3 keys are needed: --Registries are applied on golden image. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Reconnect Name: FastReconnect Type: REG_DWORD Value: 0 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA\GroupPolicy Name: EnforceUserPolicyEvaluationSuccess Type: REG_DWORD Value: 0 Registry value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Reconnect Name: DisableGPCalculation Type: REG_DWORD Value: 1 It's really important that the keys are applied on the image (I prefer GPO) and not only on the VDA!

Don't want to say @Balint Oberrauch is wrong, but we personally never deployed the
DisableGPCalculation
Key. Interesting that we had different results. For me the most relevant article was CTX296769

I was surprised that three keys are needed, especially because last year I worked a lot on the reconnect case and it turned out
DisableGPCalculation
was not necessary to deploy. Answer from our beloved Citrix Support:

Thanks guys, your insights were very helpful for me. Have you seen these in 2308 + yet?
b
I have only deployed SingleSession VDI's with CR during last year 🙂

I appreciate the feedback gentleman. Always a pleasure

Likewise!

All my prod environments are 2203.3000. I have a pre-prod environment on 2308, but there is 1 user only, so I can't tell anything about that.
r
Thanks guys
t
@Ray Davis we are experiencing this with win11 multisession and 2308 atm. Regfiles tested without success. CDF and eventlogs are sent to Citrix today.
r
Thanks for the update here. Let me know what the end results are please.

@Ray Davis Have you set the Remove Lock Computer in a gpo?
r
@Tommy Tee I would need to look. Can't recall at the moment.
t
@Ray Davis removal of lock computer option creates ghost sessions. We are all good now, after resetting those policies. It is Ok to remove the lock button on the user tile, but not on the CTRL+ALT+Delete option.

Knew I should have updated to CU4. Do you need to reboot for these registry entries to take affect?
@Marco Hofmann What is that ShellBridge key you added as well?
b
@Ryan Gallier that key is necessary for publishing O365 Apps with Modern Authentication as published app via Citrix
r
Ahhh.. Yes, thank you. I do recall that issue.
m
And OneDrive
r
not related at all to the login issue. Check. 🙂
m
Yes! I just enabled it everywhere
r
Thanks. Did you find you needed to reboot to enable the fix for the login keys?
m
Honestly, I can't remember. Most of the time it's build into my MDT/MCS process, so I can't remember.
r
kk, no worries
