Hi, @Balint Oberrauch Its been a while since I played in the Profile game, but I would look to do a mandatory profile and store it on the C: in your image, especially if you won't be updating it very often. That will eliminate even having to read it over the network on logon. I'm sure that there are plenty of articles out there on how to set one up, but it usually entails just logging into a Windows machine and configuring the settings that you want for the user (keeping in mind that you COULD set some of those up with GPO, but that would also increase the logon time). Then logout of that account and copy the c:\users\%username% folder to a new location and change the ntuser.dat to ntuser.man. You can also set the folder to .man (considered a super mandatory profile) but, I don't think you'll need that

Cool, thank you! I'm thinking about creating a default template/mandatory profile on a share and redirecting it via FSL Appmasking to the VDA. In that case I could modify the default profile without adjusting the image every time. Only thing I need to pay attention are the boot times (W10 LTSC).

zero profiles, optimized default, works like a beast - we have 6 second logons with first time profile creation on Windows 10 using that approach
@Dave Brett has done some work with Citrix optimizer templates on this as well

If not needed, I don't use any form of profile management, including mandatory profiles. This is how I designed and build our OT platforms. Just use group policy, logon scripts, and maybe application launch scripts where needed to address any application setting/configuration needs. There will be nice fast logons and NO need to do any form of profile management whatsoever. Reduces so many issues.

Thank you for your input. I'll create a optimized default template on a network share and redirect it via FSL to the VDA. @Dave Brett have you used a template which modifies the default profile? I tend to use the template of @Rob Zylowski --> https://github.com/ryancbutler/Citrix_Optimizer_Community_Template_Marketplace/blo[…]lates/Rob%20Zylowski/User_Profile_Optimizations_RobZylowski.xml

@Balint Oberrauch: The above XML is 5 years old, I'd go with my my man @Jonathan Pitre script for default user profile optimization: https://github.com/JonathanPitre/Scripts/tree/master/Optimize-DefaultUserProfile

@Balint Oberrauch Keep it even simpler than than that, no need for redirections or any form of "off-box" - optimize the default user profile on the image itself. That way any user profile created uses that as a baseline - piece of cake. The VMware optimization tool does an insanely good job of achieving this
