Hardware is ok. Software is so so. We’re looking at moving away.

IGel

I’d go with IGEL without question…
Oh hi benji 😂
c
Igels are my preferred choice when it comes to thin clients
m
Igel 100%
d
I'd hands down, go with Stratodesk. Yes, they are not thin client providers, but the management and installation of OS is extremely easy. The management is also available in cloud, although you need a minimum of a 100 licenses.

We use eLux from Unicon and I like them, it just works based on Linux.
k
Another vote for Igel here!
g
IGEL for thin client management. HP has thin client hardware certified for IGEL.
n
I'd go IGEL, as well. At my last place, we piloted both Stratodesk and IGEL, and nearly everything was better/easier with IGEL. Furthermore, their Slack channel is top notch for support/config/etc. That's almost worth its weight in gold.
m
We are full Dell Wyse ThinOS 9.x, IGEL is too expensive. But I see I'm alone here.
b
IGEL here as well

ThinOS now uses a standard Linux Workspace build, rather than a custom build. We now get updates in a reasonably timely fashion. In 2020-21 they were lagging behind almost 10 months, which killed us as we were using optimized Teams heavily and trying to improve feature parity with laptops. We came very close to pulling the trigger on IGEL at one point.
