I have pruned the data btw to free up space 🙂

AFAIK vserver and storage licenses are sold separately
k
vServer and storage are sold separately
or at least it was sold separately, there's a lot going on in CSG 😄
c
According to this article if you buy vserver licenes it gives you MB of storage per each vserver license
are people generally buying more Vserver licenses / storage ? i susupose its a open ended question depending on the budget and requirements of the company/customer. I cant see this company wanting to pay more as the on prem adm they was using prior to the migration to ADM service had free 30 vservers which was sufficent
a
@c4rm0 You do have have any more 30 free vServer on-prem since few Firmware updates, if I am correct
c
I migrated from on prem ADM (Where i had 30 free Vservers and an extra disk added to the ADM appliance for storage) to the cloud based ADM service where i now have 2 free Vservers and only 500MB of storage capacity
a
Yes, I am saying that on-prem with latest Firmware does not provided anymore 30 free vserver
💯 2
c
ok so even if i had updated them to latest on prem ADM version the 30 free Vservers would of gone down to 2 ok cool thats good to know i will hit them that they have to purchase more Vservers and Storage on the ADM service
k
On-prem got limited to 2 vServers also in 13.1
https://docs.netscaler.com/en-us/citrix-application-delivery-management-software/13-1/licensing "For build 13.1-12.x or later, you can manage up to two discovered applications or virtual servers and view analytics. Beyond the two discovered applications or the two virtual servers, you must buy and apply an Advanced license. For example, if you buy 100 virtual server licenses, then you are entitled to you use up to 102 virtual server licenses."
And 13.0 is nearing EOL, so the limit will apply regardless of cloud/on-prem.. the vServer stuff only applies for the licensed stuff, so for basic monitoring and such you can still leverage ADM
c
You can buy storage separately but I've yet to see an environment (outside of huge ones) where that makes fiscal sense versus just ordering vserver licenses since each vserver license comes with 500MB of storage as noted in the article John posted. I don't know if they even started enforcing storage limits on paid ADM service accounts yet, for a while it would just nag at you.
k
I hope they don't restrict the free version any more, I think it's a very good idea to demo the capabilities for free or low price (I'd apply the same logic to analytics stuff in DaaS to get more customers)
c
For ADM Service they shouldn't, but you should consider on-prem to basically be in zombie mode unless they've reversed course significantly.
k
Imho, CSG should recognize the value in on-prem and the customers running stuff in on-prem. There's AVD and all cloud stuff, but there's a load of customers running on-prem and some customers are going back due to sudden price changes in cloud. Keeping up with on-prem ADM would support this.

you can also buy 5gb extra per month with csp, don't know how it is with buying only
it's an azure bucket behind it as well as admins can buy it there as well
