is the gateway you are trying to remove usign the same VIP on the netscaler?
s
no they don't
s
do you need to see historics or is realtime good enough?
s
historic would be nice, but realtime data could also be helpfull
s
most simple approach would be just to login to the netscaler and on the Netscaler Gateways/vserver page you should see the 'connections'
for each vip
s
i can see all sessions on the Netscaler, but i can't lead back from which gateway a connection was started. On the gateway i can see only the current number of sessions and some other statistics but not the usernames
s
but you do see active connections on the gateway you want to decom?
s
yes i do, but I need to know who is connected.
s
i know there's a netscaler command you can run to get the associated session, but it's pretty messy
can you try running this on your deliveyr controller?
$All = Get-Brokersession -AdminAddress <delivery controller>
$All | Select-Object UserFullName, @{Name = 'SmartAccessTags'; Expression = {$_.smartaccesstags[2]}} | Group-Object -Property SmartAccessTags | Sort-Object SmartAccessTags | FT -AutoSize
not 100% if that will work for you pending on the license you have
s
I will try it tomorrow thanks

director should show you “connected via” if you filter it and that IP should be the gateway

if you got ADM/NMAS the easiest way is Analytics > Gateway insights > Gateways filter it over 1 day and you can see every user who has connected to the gateway. show aaa session and show connectiontable | grep -i ipofgwvserver can also be used

logactions might come in handy... especially if you have a syslog destination where to push them
you could log a user when they connect from the gw in case, get timestamps, username etc data

s
the connected via just shows you the SNIP, not the gateway VIP, i thought
k
assuming the GWs are on the same appliance, not sure if that came up?
one could ofc (if fw acls allow), allocate a different IP via netprofile for each sf lb and use that to see from which they're connecting?
s
Yes they are on ghe same netscaler appliance
Thanks @Steve Noel $All | Select-Object UserFullName, @{Name = 'SmartAccessTags'; Expression = {$_.smartaccesstags[2]}} | ogv is what i was searching for, so i can easily sort connections
