Yea, now if they would only release the release notes to go along with it… lol

Looks like the deprecated classic policy support has finally been removed too. In my lab have had a VPX upgrade hang twice via the GUI at the same "installing SaaS Template app catalog files" point, but cli based upgrades worked fine.

Usually there's been a "hype blog" of the new release and its features, but now it seems more like a new build for 13.1 if you ask me? It might be that the release notes don't have all the new features listed though...
Andrew Scott's newsletter held info that the changes have been small to maintain stability... it's a change to what we've gotten used to. In the other hand I get it but in the other hand, why the big version change at all?
n
Until the next CVE, 14.1 won't show up related to security issues on a massive scale, so maybe they want to start with a clean slate until the next one? x)
c
This 14.1 is not a fix for any vulnerability like 13.1 14.49, right? It is just a random release with new features and bug fixes. Am I correct?
k
No, it's a new major release of NetScaler... previously has been a bunch of new features, but not this time.
c
So, should we upgrade again? classic policies and MPX support for few devices is not supported anymore.
c
You absolutely shouldn't be deploying the first release of any firmware train in production anywhere, really.

@Aaron O'Reilly samething with the GUI, CLI worked fine. but I see the basic polices still and when creating one as a test. This pops up still
@Chai the docs say "Build 14.1-4.42 and later builds address the security vulnerabilities described in https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX561482 and prior bulletins."
c
Yes and we are on 13.1 14.19 version on all our netscalers. So thats where i m thinking should we still upgrade as we are on the version suggested by Citrix in that article.
n
I assume you mean 49.13, since you spoke about updating a few days ago. 😛 No, no need to upgrade to 14.1, if you're on 13.1 49.13, you're covered against the latest CVE.
c
Oh sorry my bad. You’re right on that version number. Its 13.1 49.13. Thank you @nsvegman
n
Haha, that's fine, if you'd stay on 13.1 14.19 we'd all be a little bit scared on your behalf. 😄
