There are two reg keys that will help if I recall. It’s the refresh interval.

When It refreshes is will call the self service poll causing it to trigger a login and a pop to start the authentication process which will lead to the MFA prompt defined by your settings

But we are running selfservice disabled so that might be a reason why this doesn't automatically trigger..

I believe it still uses the SelfService.exe to fresh the workspace app.

Example as a test open cmd and browse to the location where SelfService.exe is at. Then run SelfService.exe -poll. It will then contact the server and pull the prompt you are looking for. But the refresh registry I gave you will do it for you.
