Can you not just make a server VDA that is not based on a provisioned image? then it would be stand-alone and should host sessions in its of DG. I don't think that it necessarily needs to be installed as a Remote PC. I believe that the design for the Remote PC option was to provide access to a physical PC sitting on somebodies desk, so it would inherently be for single user
d
I thought that’s what remote pc is. How do you create a vda that way?
r
Are you installing on a server OS?
b
As I understand it, multi session Win10 or Win11 is only available via Azure Virtual Desktop. If you go that route, it's no different than traditional CVAD. Remote PC is for physical devices only. By definition, you can't do multi-session Remote PC.

I’m trying to use a 2019 server and just want it to be connected to via Citrix services. When trying to set up a machine catalog I only have mcs/pvs and remote pc as options and the first two work off a gold image
2019 server with External vendors accessing it via Citrix.
That’s the main goal. Have them set up what they need etc without worry of settings not being preserved or whatnot
r
On server os you should be able to create a physical vda. You might have to use the cmdline for the install ill test later today
d
thats what I thought remotePC is for. there's only three options MCs/PVS or Remote PC. the first two rely on a gold image which just leaves remote pc.
b
If you are running the install from the Citrix ISO on server 2019 you should see in the upper right corner "Virtual Delivery Agent for Windows Multi-session OS" or you can download the install file for that version of the VDA directly.
r
What version of the BVDA are you installing. If i download the VDAServerSetup for 2203 CU3 I see this
d
Going for 2305
r
Shoudl be the same
older may be an issue
we had a while where we did only have remotepc
So i woudl try just downloader the server vda alone
though it should eb the same as running fomr the iso
d
wtf i swear i didnt see this option yesterday. trying it now. TY
@Rob Zylowski so once this broker connection is set up, what option do i use in director? only see multi-session,single or remote pc.
so maybe i did set up enable brokered connection on that server yesterday afterall just had issues getting it set up on the director side of things
wait think i got it...fingers crossed.

yea im just dumb. had to pick in director "no provisioning" and then things just sailed smoothly. Thanks for the help!
