Is it because there is no IE available within Citrix?
c
Hey Leee it's server 2016 on Citrix which still has IE installed the endpoints are on W10/11 which doesn't have IE. When it works locally I see mswebview2 running under the outlook process. I do have mswebview2 installed on Citrix and it has the latest version of MS edge

I had a similiar issue with another addin and had to open edge as the user so it "hooks" into the person profile then the addin worked. if you right click the iframe and click inspect, does it show up with the older grey of traditional IE or a more modern look?
c
On Citrix as soon as you click the mark as phising button in outlook it opens a url in chrome (default browser) and is completely blank. Locally it opens a iframe/pop up window within outlook with some buttons

hmm wonder if you have to make edge defualt for opening a specific file format like aspx or somethign
what if you make edge the default browser? curious to see behavior.
c
I did test that I ran the setdefaultbrowser.exe tool in the user context and set MS edge as default browser. I checked in explorer and all files like html open with MS edge. But I get same issue I click on the mark as phishing button in outlook and it opens in MS edge it doesn't open the iframe/pop up within outlook

has it ever worked? Maybe there is a VDI version or settings that need to be configured? I'd open a ticket and see what they say.
c
it's a new addin / phishing email security solution that is getting pushed down by our 365 admin I will speak to the 365 admin/3rd party whose addin it tomorrow

Just a stab in the dark, but the add-in might need a browser extention installed in Chrome. For it to work properly. Check if you can see any extentions in Chrome outside of Citrix, which does not appear in Citrix.

We have this same setup. On-prem Office and Exchange and we publish Outlook on 2016 server. We have the proofpoint add-in. I don't recall having any sort of issue like this. I need to look into our setup and see if we had to do something special to get it to work. We've standardized on Edge.
c
Thanks 👍 I have tested it this morning on a server 2019 box non Citrix server and it doesn't work as expected same behavior as my server 2016 and 2019 Citrix PVS images ( it opens the proof point url in a browser window and sits on a blank page) I am thinking the proof point add in they have deployed from 365 is not server OS compatible as it's only working on our W10/11 laptops and pcs
I have also reinstalled mswebview2 and running latest version of MS edge

I couldn't find anything special that we're doing. We're using AppLayering with the Proofpoint plug-in in it's own layer (office as a pre-req). The name of the product in Programs/Apps is "Proofpoint Email Feedback Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook". We're using version 2.1.15.0.
c
Ours is centrally deployed from O365 when you click the browse add ins buttons on outlook you see it listed in admin managed. I don't see it in outlook add ins or com add ins
Do you have the proof point email feedback add in install file handy? I might run that and give that a try
a
@c4rm0 I'm not able to provide that unfortunately. Whomever is your Proofpoint admin should be able to get you one.
