Yes load balancing is included in standard edition platform license but your right i cant find the platform edition comparison list they used to have on citrix.com . Its because they moved it to a new website its all under netscaler.com now

from memory Platinum edition only had a few things extra (Historic monitoring data (insights), WAF, smartcontrol, unlimited universal licences, ip reputation / advanced edition you had AAA,GSLB,rdp proxy, real time monitoring / Standard edition load balancing, content switching, ssl offload
so yeah it looks about right tbh
k
But these days Standard does the "hobbled" AAA thing for Azure authentication still, right?
c
Nfactor and the whole AAA auth profile / Vserver ?
j
Unless you have a CSP license, Standard Edition does not exist anymore, so beware
You’d need VPX200 Advanced minimum, which has pretty much everything besides WAF and caching
k
Right, so VPX 200 Advanced of nothing.
That sorts out the AAA thing as well then 😛
c
really ? they got rid of standard edition never knew that
j
Unless CSP, those still have standard and lower bandwidth for now
But unexpected standard to be gone as well in the future
I expect*
k
Fuck the small deployments, right.
j
Well in CSA, yes.
CSP will allow the smaller environments
l
Freemium is limited bandwidth but have Standard functionality minus Gateway. Just thought I'd throw that in.
c
Yeah freemium you get 20Mbps and standard like feature but no Gateway the main issue with Freemium tho is you get no support
k
One more question. Does this count for the Citrix Advanced Gateway? Starting from release 13.0 build 67.x, nFactor authentication is supported with Standard license only for Gateway/VPN virtual server. In Standard license, the nFactor visualizer GUI cannot be used to create the EPA in the nFactor flow. Also, you cannot edit the login schema, but must use the out-of-the-box login schema as-is.
j
Correct, it is simple nFactor for Gateway purposes in standard edition. Everything relates to Unified Gateway is still advanced license
k
Thanks folks. I might have to get the customer to upgrade to a VPX 200 advanced for the load balancing, but at least I can keep working on the current setup.
The €14K was a bit too pricey for them for just this one feature. Oh well.
