As we have started to transition our RDS hosted apps from published desktops to RemoteApp, we have discovered that, if we want to launch another application while launching the published application, the standard options will not work, including the Run/RunOnce key, GPO Login scripts, etc. AD User object Login Scripts do work, but our security team frowns on us using that method. After some testing, I was able to use Task Scheduler using the At Login trigger. If anyone is interested in this, I can send you the details on how to make this work.

Question from my operations team. We have a VERY Large RDS farm with RDSH servers hosting about 50 concurrent users. Frequently these servers will stop responding when trying to launch new sessions. What they are currently doing is manually launching a session to each host and if it doesn't display the legal banner they bounce it. The servers are responding to PS Remoting commands and IPC calls. With 1300+ hosts to check this is a time consuming process. Does anyone know of a way to do this scriptomatically? Maybe checking a process for resource consumption?

Any good design guides/reference models for RDS Gateway in DMZ workgroup and RDS infrastructure in domain behind firewall?

I'm still having issues with Outlook search results when users are running RDS sessions (and fslogix(?)) on a 2019 server. Missing results, etc. Can't figure this one out

Well this isnt good.. since yesterday afternoon users have been getting disconnected from the RDS servers briefly until they can get back on a few minutes later. Event viewer shows "remote desktop gateway service terminated unexpectedly" but having found much else to go on

Anyone using RemoteApp with RDS? WE are seeing some apps that have System Tray Icons. The first time you run that app, the System Tray Icon will appear, but subsequent launches, the System Tray Icon doesn't appear. We're wondering if there is a policy or RDS setting that addresses this that we are missing.

Anyone know how to connect RDS gateway with RD web servers. I know how to connect the RDP client to it but what if user are access it through the rdweb url..how does that work.

Do i really need to implement RDS Gateway if my RDS farm will only be used internally and not accessed outside the corporate network?

GM everyone, a few questions for everyone. is there a way to divide remote apps and Desktops? so they appear in different section of RD Web similiar to SF/Workspace?

also, is there a way to automatically include the domain name? so the users doesn't have to type in domain\username format. the only way i found when researching is it by using the users upn. i was hoping i could configure it so all they have to do is put there user name in, like citrix director can.

GM, how can i improve this? is there anyway to automatically open w/o user interaction? also, i read it could cause drive space issues b/c there is no mechanism to clean them up. is that true? what are you doing to simplify this whole process for the user? thanks!

Hi, on our RDS 2016 servers, after Edge upgraded from 130.0.2849.80 to the 131.0.2903.xx we cannot longer sign in, in the edge browser, for new users, users that already are sign in do not have any problems(except if they sign out). The error we get is: DPTI: 75a3b75ccfb0e186c85e4b397afcc106b1cb10ede22e8617f1d75209a8227419 Error Tag: 9zp30 Error Code: 0 Tried different version of the 131 version with the same result. But if I downgrade to 130.0.2849.80 or the newer 130.0.2849.123, then I have no problem with sign in. Any one have a hit to what I need to fix, before upgrading to Edge 131.

Hi, in an AVD-environment (Win11 Multi-Session, Hybrid Joined, Entra ID SSO for Logon) there's the need to start published Apps from a OnPrem RDS-Farm (Server 2025 RD-Web with Broker). I know there are tons of blogs on how to gain sso (setting the TERMSRV Policy, SHA1 Certthumbprint,...) but that's not working when the "client" is a AVD Host. I think that should work with Kerberos? Anything special to configure so the AVD RDP-Client is using Kerberos for SSO? When trying to add the Work-Resource (via the webaccess.customer.com/RDWeb/feed) there's a Windows-Auth popup saying "Username or Password wrong" for the RDWeb-FQDN. The same on Browser is doing SSO to the RDWeb Page, instantly. Downloading a .rdp file and starting giving also a Windows-Auth popup with the Broker-FQDN saying "The login attempt failed". I've played around on the IIS settings of the RDWeb Servers with Negotiate and Kerberos, without any changes. I'm not sure if (and where) I have to configure sth special on the Broker Servers? Hmm does the "Try new outlook" toggle not work for users on an RDS host? When they click it, it says "downloading new outlook" then they get a Switch Now button, which does nothing. (FSLogix used as well, if that matters)

Does anyone know if there is a way to publish Microsoft RDS remote apps that are hosted on on-prem servers on the https://myapps.microsoft.com/ portal? I found these steps - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/app-proxy/application-proxy-add-on-premises-application, but I'm not sure if it just publishes the RDWeb URL and not the applications. I need to publish the remote apps. please let me know if you have been able to accomplish this and how.

I recently set up a new RDS farm that hosts RemoteApps, but users are prompted to enter their credentials after clicking on a RemoteApp. I've tried multiple solutions to enable SSO, but the only methods that have worked so far are launching the application through Internet Explorer or configuring the Enterprise Mode Site List for Microsoft Edge. Has anyone successfully enabled SSO without adding the RD Web Access URL to the Enterprise Mode Site List or launching the application via Internet Explorer?

Has anyone setup Remote Desktop web client - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/remote-desktop-web-client-admin . trying to set this up in my lab with an internal certs. has anyone been able to do this. i am asking b/c i am getting errors in mine, and i am trying to determine if its the certificate or licensing.
