@Franicia I’m wondering if it might be better to use Word to write the Extraordinary Children book. I read at the following link that Google Docs can get corrupted when they get long: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/docs/8ASXs4kVUbc

@Franicia I wrote to G Suite support last night and asked about the limitations of Google Docs. They sent the following link that seems to indicate that Google Docs can now be as big as 50MB a piece. That's a pretty huge document. I've seen some people recommend that copies of documents be made if they're complex or especially lengthy with comments, revisions, etc. That's easy to do. We also have a full backup of all of our Google Drive files and folders. https://support.google.com/drive/answer/37603/?hl=en

@Franicia Microsoft Word documents are limited currently to approximately 500MB. I think that we'd be find using either Google Drive (Docs) or Word. Which would you prefer or recommend that we use?

@Tim Thank you for writing to them! I like Google Docs for random thoughts and getting words out and drafts quickly. I like how Word looks in book format, but I found it stifled me before because I felt I had to had my titles figured out before writing. Google Docs allows me to just write and brainstorm. Word allowed me see headers better. The main issue for people is mainly writing at all. I feel like Google Docs allows me to focus on writing. I feel unhindered and free to make mistakes and jot down a bunch of notes because book writers will sometimes delete a ton of material they don’t use. There are also some other reasons I can’t explain. I don’t like losing material so I’m glad you brought that up. Also, I’m surprised at the storage capacity if the Word documents especially when comparing it to Google Docs. How about you?

@Franicia I'm surprised too, but a 50MB Google Doc would only be that big if it had a lot of images in it. We don't need (or want) to store images in Google Docs -- that's just not the place for them. 50MB worth of text is really huge, so that limitation shouldn't be a problem. I've tried to give you all the tools that will help you to write, so I'm very glad that Google Docs is working for you. Let's stick with that. It's easy enough to go back to Word if we decide that doing so would be beneficial.
