Mr. Larson's advice on selling is to "just try stuff" along with research. He said to concentrate our energies on finding profitable products. He says 1.) Find profitable products 2.) Make quality listings 3.) Do some marketing 4.) Collect a check every 2 weeks, and 5.) Do it all over again.

"...What is a Liquidation Store? In the Liquidation Gold guide I get to share with you the strategies that we use to navigate and source inside of liquidation and discount stores. When we talk about “Liquidation” we mean both mom and pop one of a kind stores, and places like Big Lots, Grocery Outlet and TJMaxx. Any place where you can buy products that were once in mainstream retail stores. These products are moved out of places like Target, CVS & Costco. The manufacturers send them to discount stores and liquidation centers. Once they make it back to the market they are discounted so you can buy them cheaper than they were when they were at the main stores. These strategies work for the chain stores mentioned above and the one of a kind non chain stores. The one of a kind stores are harder for many people to locate, just know that if you can’t find one, you can use what you learn here at Grocery Outlet and Big Lots too. We get major scores from the chain stores as well. It’s important to note that we are NOT talking about buying from online “liquidators” or buying pallets and having them shipped to you. The strategies that we use are all done in person where we inspect the products before purchasing. What’s So Special About Buying Liquidation Inventory? Liquidation is quite a bit different than buying from mainstream retail stores. First of all, all of the products are discounted, so you don’t need to focus on just “clearance” or sale prices. The whole store is your “oyster“. That’s why we have written this guide, to share with you how we have been able to navigate these stores and come up with systems for choosing the most profitable items to purchase..." http://thesellingfamily.com/trainings/liquidationgold/

@Tim: The stuff I saw on Overstock seemed really pricey. I saw a reviewer have a bad experience, was sent the wrong item, and had to pay shipping costs twice for their mistake. At least I looked. 😊

John Chartier - Highly encouraging message ▾

and commented: I posted this encouraging post for resellers on Evernote. This is from the "Stay at Home Moms Selling on Ebay" Facebook group. 😊 He talks about using Dollar Store items. He also says in some ways not to be discouraged even if items like Lego are restricted from not being sold on Amazon. John Chartier says, "Dollar Stores To eBay I love thrifting, I still thrift but most of the time the stuff sits for a few months in the warehouse and then I send it back... My business has grown so much that I cant afford to thrift anymore.. Selling one off items is time consuming... BUT and this is a big BUT You can go into stores and buy at full retail and make money... Ohhh you wont make 2000% on an item, but what if I told you you could make more total profit then you do from thrifting?? think I am crazy? Let me tell you how... Amazon has started telling people they cant sell certain brands.. the one I know of right off the top of my head is LEGO... well I was in a five below the other day and they had these Lego sets, and I looked them up on Amazon... RESTRICTED is what it said accross my phone, meaning I am not aloud to sell them on Amazon... so for giggles I said let me check eBay... they were selling very well at about 4 bucks profit, so you pay 5 and get 9 back... not worth the time right?? Well they had 4 different ones I believe... so now you spend 20 and get 36 back, still nothing like thrifting but here is where it gets interesting...you take the 36 bucks back to 5 below and buy 7 lego sets and with a few mouse clicks you can relist the items... I know sounds crazy right? I have an item I use to buy at a dollar store that sold so well I traveled with my wife on weekends looking for them.. I call this type of item a replenishable.. sometimes you can find them that make double the money... You can go to dollar stores and look at things like toys, house hold items, party supplies, then you can take 2 or 3 items and list them in a package... I can spend 20 bucks at the dollar store and make 10 listings, knowing that if I sell out I can run to the dollar store and pick up more... But what if I spent 20 bucks a week?? In a months time I would have at least 40 listings that everytime they sold I could just relist it with a mouse click, or better yet set it to auto relist whether it sells or not... I have 15 auctions like that right now... Listen all you have to do is think outside the box... Walmart has 100s of items you can buy and sell on eBay for a profit.. you wont buy a dollar item and make 25... BUT if you find a dollar item that makes you 2 bucks and you do it 100 times in ayear which is the better find?? Making money thrifting already?? then how about stopping at the dollar store and finding 5 items a week you can do this with... in a month you have 20 listings that just sell over and over... A word of cation, they do run out of stock as well sometimes, keep track of their inventory so you dont over sell yourself, but most stores are within a few miles before you get to another one... I did this for a while, made money, grew to the point, that one of my dollar store items I had made in china and it will be here by boat on Feb 7th... Ready for me to send into Amazon and sell on eBay which is a whole other article... Thrift stores are not the only place to find profit... Look around there is free money waiting to be picked up all over... I am sure you can each find at least one item you can sell on eBay in a store the next time you visit a retailer... All you have to do is think outside the box... Listen even the big guys strike out once in a while, with 2200 listings on eBay, I sold zero yesterday... but then there are days I sell 500... just keep stepping up to bat and you will hit the ball... My growth took me 10 years, this was not over night, it is from doing the same thing over and over... Not giving up and making it happen.. I get up at 430 most mornings, I am working by 5 am 7 days a week 365 days a year... I work when I am on a cruise ship, I work when it is a holiday, I work when it is just another monday.... Until you can afford to pay someone to do the work, you need to work everyday you can... full time for me is 80 plus hours a week.. Dont think this happened with 10 hours of surfing facebook.. If you turn off facebook, and list 2 extra items a day, thats 60 items a month, if you make 3 bucks an item thats an extra 180 dollars, I did a million last year, I could use 200 bucks... so I am sure you could as well... so use the red X in the upper right corner, and GET TO WORK.... Hey I am here to help, feel free to ask me anything, I will answer the best I can... remember all you need is LUCK..."

Mandy Wakeman sells 99cent car sear cover for $26 on ebay▾

and commented: Comment to John Chartier's post: "1. Mandy Wakeman flipped $0.99 car sear cover for $26. She went to buy more and her phone kept ringing from the sold sound of people buying it on eBay! 😮😀🎉 She said, "Great tip! One of my most profitable items ever was a car seat cover found at a 99 cent store. I sold it for $26+shipping BIN within an hour. I got back in my car as soon as I sold it and bought the rest that the store had. I could hear my notifications going off for more being sold as I stood in line buying them! I went to every 99 cent store in a 100 mile radius over the next week and ending up selling over 1000 of those in less than a week."

@Tim: John Chartier's FB profile says his website is www.VirtualOnlineSelling.com From what I gather in his post above (and copied to Evernote) is that he has had a million $1,000,000 in sales. He used to work in the military.

@Tim I sent this email: (Resending w/ email I used to purchase with) Hello, I'm having trouble signing in. 1.) Where do I go to create my login for PAC? 2.) I purchased the PAC using my email and card since I am the main one able to study it while my husband serves in the armed forces. My husband Tim White ( tim@whitefamily.us ) bought your China course. I read some of that. It's how I got access to the discount for the PAC. Was I supposed to use his China sourcing login? Did I mess things up by using my email to make the PAC purchase? Thank you so much for your help. Blessings, Franicia for the Whites franicia@timandfranicia.com

@Tim I have to be a MySilentTeam member before I can access the PAC. I bought it. It asks me to fill out like “Mrs.” for my first name and then asks that I create a username. Are you okay with me using “timandfranicia” for my username even if it is associated with my name?
