I’m sorry you got caught in the “crossfire” on this.
Here’s what I am doing (and why these are not archived at
voxpupuli.org)
I take other projects that exist and ask Grok (I work at SpaceX) to look at the project, taking into consideration version of OpenVox, the tooling formerly used, the new tooling that should be available, the initiative to rename everything away from puppet-* and to generate a new project, removing all references perforce’s Puppet product, and transitioning to openvox-* where possible (with the obvious exception of binary paths)
Next, I personally study what was done for two reasons:
1. to understand the tools myself
2. to learn what should be done to start making my original prompt’s request possilbe
3. I begin to manually correct things I see wrong by
using the tools I’m working with and eventually when I’m happy with where it is, then I will “release” or at least inform the OpenVox community something is ready for use.
As it stands right now, I only consider two things I’ve worked on to be ready for primetime, and usable in any form. That is OpenVox GUI
https://github.com/cvquesty/openvox-gui and VoxDocs
https://github.com/cvquesty/voxdocs
I continually and manually edit these and keep up with feature requests, issues, PRs, etc. and either update documentation or code when things need to change. The easiest way to determine the maturity of either is VoxDocs has 7 tags and 5 official releases, and I continually review the new documentation being created at openvox-docs, and keep my own “user friendly version” of the docs I created quite a bit of time before this current documentation push began.
Secondarily, the GUI is something I’ve been jonesing for since about 2015-2016 when Puppet deprecated (or at least stopped contributing to) the old Puppet dashboard) and decided I wanted to give a try at having a tool that did all the things the old dashboard did, but also included many of the features of the PE console. This project has 88 tags with 30 separate releases, and is what I would consider my “pet project”.
Everything else in my GitHub is mine for my own purposes and is not generally intended to be part of the ecosystem. The only thing I would hope VoxPupuli would carry on if something happened to me would be the GUI. We’re using it in production at my company, and it’s been a real timesaver and a boon to our workflow.
Again, sorry you got caught in the middle of all that.
