    I would suggest running the
    keytool -delete
    commands mentioned here
    openjdk.org/emudhra ASAP

If you use an OpenJDK Java runtime provided by an operating-system package, it most likely uses the operating system’s certificates. This is true of the OpenJDK packages in Arch Linux, Fedora, Gentoo, Oracle Linux, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. For these systems, updating the operating system’s certificates is likely sufficient.
OpenJDK Java runtime packages in Debian Linux and derived distributions (e.g., Devuan and Ubuntu) are intended to use the operating system’s certificates from the ca-certificates package via the related ca-certificates-java package. Due to a long-standing bug in the latter, however, updating these two packages is not sufficient. The workaround is to remove and recreate the operating system’s Java keystore, for which you must be the superuser:
    rm -f /etc/ssl/certs/java/cacerts
    update-ca-certificates --fresh
OpenJDK Java runtime packages in FreeBSD and Homebrew do not use the operating system’s certificates. Update the packages directly once updates are available.

So we are fine for new container builds, but running apt upgrade in an old container might not be enoughthinking party

So, after more testing, if you have latest OpenJDK and latest
    ca-certificates
the POC does not work. Phew. But yes, an old container might need remediation of some sort.

Nietzschian: You say you'll offer buyout to "some employees." That's
vague. What separates the ones who are eligible from
                 the ones who aren't?

Nietzschian: "Random" is the word we use when we haven't thought
hard enough. What does history show happens with massive
layoffs in the past? Go look. I'll wait.

This is extremely off-topic. I'm publishing a library to Maven Central for the first time. This is part of work that I did at my employer and then decided that more people could benefit from it, so made it open source. Please take a look and see if I overlooked anything obvious, in terms of gotchas. Really appreciate it.

I got hit by a car while bicycling to work yesterday. Spent the rest of the day and today in hospital. Broken wrist and broken pelvis, but pretty minor fractures, because I can still walk, painfully. I hate it here. 😒 strava.com/activities/20752732474

This is why "AI is inevitable" is such a useless teleology. People by and large don't want it and we don't have to accept it as a given x.com/josephfcox/status/2116209270228451566?a=j-DuHfSpAsheQhNYD0Q&s=20
