I think I'm going to do 9.0.0~rc1 so people can try it out first

@Nick Burgan the redhatfips-10 smoke tests on openvoxdb and openvox-server main fail with a 404 on openvox9-release-redhatfips-10.noarch.rpm. redhatfips-10 was never added to openvox9.json in openvox-release-infra. The redhatfips/10 repo itself is complete (all four 9.1.0 packages, signed repodata); only the release rpm is missing, because redhatfips-10 was never added to openvox9.json in openvox-release-infra. Looks like running "Add New Repo Package Platform" (openvox9, redhatfips-10, build_production) should fix it?

Oops, you're right, completely forgot to do that. Yep, that should do it.

@bastelfreak I don't suppose you remember what this was about? github.com/OpenVoxProject/openbolt/commit/43a54d5a2a79…

Mhm nope. I think MacOS users reported issues 🤔

I think the Gemfile is really only used for building/testing

I am questioning why openssl is in the Gemfile at all

IMHO we can drop it and see if CI still passes

I put it in there a while ago when the version shipped with Ruby 3.2 ended up causing cert errors on MacOS. I think I just need to update the actions to run on Ruby 4 and pull that out of there.

But you added a line in there saying openssl 4.x caused some issues, which is what is in Ruby 4

@Josh Partlow Here's what Fable came up with. Looks okay to me, but still need to test it. github.com/OpenVoxProject/openvox-release-infra/pull/48

Yeah, claude was making that suggestion to me too; it does seem reasonable, but I wasn't sure what other ramifications switching to deb822 involved. I'll take a look at the pr; thanks!

Hmm, Nick, I don't see a vox task in the openvox-releas-infra, and if I run repo_packages:build, it starts asking me about GPG_PRIVATE_KEY_B64, but I've seen too many Marvin the Martian cartoons to fall for that. Plus I don't have fpm installed, though that's easily enough rectified. Is there some uber tooling needed here?

Oh sorry, I probably got the name wrong. Yeah, just set GPG_PRIVATE_KEY_B64 to something bogus. You'll need docker/podman installed because it does everything in a container.

Oh I get it, it installs fpm in the containers...nm, just rambling...

We're blocked on the openbolt 9 release for the moment due to the choria-mcorpc-support gem not yet supporting version 4 of the openssl gem and some Ruby 4/OpenVox changes that are needed. I've asked RI for help in getting them merged and a new release so we can move forward. https://voxpupuli.slack.com/archives/C07RQ9QRPJ9/p1792175657140589

I don't have a laptop available, but I can test and merge those Sunday/Monday if RI isn't available
