Launching Zibra Labs publicly today. This is probably not the most appropriate channel to do this kind of endorsing, but I've been working with an awful lot of you for a long time now and I'm not above asking friends for a little help on the engagement algorithm 😅 (likes/comments/reposts appreciated)

wow this is amazing ! Congratulations @Zac Policzer

Congrats on the launch!
I'll be honest, it feels weird hearing Zac tell me that "alpha leaks" and to "book a call today" in the same breadth as technical jargon like cold starts and the like 😄 ... I guess as infra maintainers we've always had to be customer-oriented, so you have it in you! Except that now you're going after real customer wallets, rather than "Mickey Mouse money" as Ivo used to call it 🤣

Let's gooooo! Rooting for you 🚀

Thanks guys. Yeah customers are a very different game now. The 'escalation' process is they just don't give you any money 😂
🤣 2
f
That's the good case. As long as they don't sue you're good 😄
z
🤔 hrm. I guess I hadn't thought of that kind of escalation
f
Don't worry about it 😄 ... keep building. Nothing else will matter if you don't build 🤝

Jeff Weiner is getting out his checkbook now

Do you guys get this too

So. It's not $2M in free tokens. It's $2M in MFN investment. So they give you tokens for a stake in your company.
k
Ah. Of course

For MANY of the startups in ycomb it's a pretty decent deal because many of these companies are basically token factories. AI is their highest expense.
But Zibra isn't a token factory. Actually we're barely getting through the Claude/Codex credits we got. We should probably be trying to use more of it since it'll expire. But we're not AI pilled enough I guess and the bot isn't spectacular at the kind of tech we're making because it's VERY focused on a particular problem set (and most of that work is actually just trying to figure out what's best for the current practitioners).
Mind you, we use it a lot to make stuff we're not particularly good at doing, and aren't super opinionated about. Things like the MCP server and the dashboard and some of the cloud tooling.
k
The fact that Claude/Codex isn't great at solving your problem is a good sign. If it could easily do it, I would say the risk of someone copying you would be extremely high

This is exciting stuff Zac!
The 'escalation' process is they just don't give you any money 😂
I actually prefer this kind of escalations
