Why I Built a Passwordless Library for U...

🎉 Blog Series Announcement 🎉 Hey all 👋 I've just published the first post in a six-part series on something I've been building - HCS Passwordless, a NuGet library suite for passwordless member authentication in Umbraco 13 and 17. Magic links, email OTP codes, and WebAuthn passkeys - all as separate packages that plug into the existing membership system. No third-party auth providers needed. Part 1 is the "why and what" - later posts get into the implementation detail. Would love to know if anyone's solving the same problem in a different way. https://www.justnik.me/blog/why-i-built-a-passwordless-library-for-umbraco

Thanks for the tip

actually I have built someting similar 😄
just got stuck on nuget publishing 😄
however my solution is only for members, not sure - what''s your target? Users, Members or both?

Mines just targeting Members because there was already something for Umbraco Users 🙂
@Hubert your project looks quite interesting, you should get it published 🙂 It's different to what I've produced as mine is designed to work with the existing Umbraco Members so it's verifying real accounts etc 🙂 Yours looks interesting as it reduces the membership data footprint 🙂

Hi Nik, thank you for your kind words of encouragement! It's my first public package 😄 In the meantime, I had a look at your solution — it's far more sophisticated than mine. I also really enjoyed the blog posts you wrote — they are great and very informative. I especially liked the last one about security — great job, I must say!

Thanks 🙂 I appreciate the feedback. It's been an interesting thing to work on and I hope it's useful for people 🙂
