📢 Looking for an experienced Umbraco freelancer for upgrade work Hey everyone — I run a small web dev company and I’m reaching out to several clients soon about upgrading their older Umbraco sites (mostly v7 and v8). I’m looking for a dependable Umbraco developer or two to take on the actual upgrade work. I don’t have the time to handle the dev side myself right now, so I’m hoping to find someone I can send projects to directly. You’d work under my banner (white-label setup) while I manage client communication and project flow. Ideal partner: Experienced with Umbraco upgrades (esp. v7 to current) Comfortable with full rebuilds when needed Familiar with ModelsBuilder, custom controllers, and front-end integration Responsive and reliable This would be project-based work, with the potential for ongoing collaboration. DM me if you're interested and include your experience + rates (hourly or per project). Thanks!

I pretty much specialize in these upgrades—and a full rebuild is always on the table. I’m always going to recommend the best path forward and if there are a lot of gaps in compatibility, associated risks with too old of code, I’ll always give you an honest down to earth answer and an approach that is conscious of the clients budget and timeline. If you want to chat Matt just send me a DM. All the best mate!

Hi everyone! I’m an Umbraco developer with 2.5 years of experience, currently looking for new opportunities. I’ve worked on projects involving Umbraco 8 to 13 migrations, custom feature development, performance optimization, and long-term website maintenance — primarily in product-based companies (airline and automotive domains). 🔍 I’m open to: ✅ Full-time / Part-time ✅ Permanent / Contract-based ✅ Remote roles If you or your team are looking for support on anything Umbraco-related — migrations, custom implementations, or ongoing support — feel free to reach out. I’d be glad to connect and contribute! 📩 DM me for more details or collaboration. 🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vijaybheemala/ Contact : +917799645727 Thanks! 😊

How are people finding the Umbraco market at the moment? I’m currently back in contracting and not using Umbraco day-to-day, but I’m considering reigniting my agency in the near future. I’m curious — are others finding Umbraco projects harder to come by lately? Do you think it’s due to the broader economy, the rise of AI, or perhaps the perception that Umbraco isn’t as “modern” as frameworks like Next.js and other perhaps Typescript based headless CMS options?

If I’m honest I know nextjs very well and have been doing a lot of work using n8n and agentic AI. My roots for the last 16 years have been Umbraco so wondering how people are finding agency life before I give up my guaranteed day rates.

It’s very quiet overall, I know of a lot of contractors that have gone back to full time or even doing other jobs as they can’t find work.

I’m in contract and although definitely fewer it’s been ok finding them. I’m just keen to get back in to agency life and be paid for outcomes not hours.

Just noticed this conversation. You are right, t's not just Umbraco, the IT market is very weak currently and has been since mid-late 2022. It's improved a little over the last 6 months and many agencies tell me they've seen a slight uptick in activity but it's still very weak historically. Over here in the UK, tax laws have made matters worse.

I'm looking for a solid ASP.NET Developer, with EF experience, for a contract role. This is partially an Umbraco project but the lion share of it is building a portal outside of Umbraco (the data will be consumed by Umbraco). You'd be joining a small team of 2 for a project where you'll be respected and appreciated. Please only contact me if: 1. You're based in the Europe 2. You're available in the next 2-3 weeks 3. You're able to work on this full time 4. You consider yourself a productive ASP.NET developer, with at least 5 years experience 5. You're used to working remotely, with a good degree of autonomy, and also as part of a team 6. You're fluent in English Please let me know 1. Your rate 2. Your availability 3. Your experience with EF 4. A little about yourself Thanks in advance

Agreed - found myself in that exact position - Freelanced for 15 years with zero problems, but then Covid hit, AI came along, and Site Builders floored the market for Brochure sites, which were mainly my bread'n'butter projects.
