How are people finding the Umbraco market at the moment? I’m currently back in contracting and not using Umbraco day-to-day, but I’m considering reigniting my agency in the near future. I’m curious — are others finding Umbraco projects harder to come by lately? Do you think it’s due to the broader economy, the rise of AI, or perhaps the perception that Umbraco isn’t as “modern” as frameworks like Next.js and other perhaps Typescript based headless CMS options?

If I’m honest I know nextjs very well and have been doing a lot of work using n8n and agentic AI. My roots for the last 16 years have been Umbraco so wondering how people are finding agency life before I give up my guaranteed day rates.

It’s very quiet overall, I know of a lot of contractors that have gone back to full time or even doing other jobs as they can’t find work.

I have a feeling many are holding off upgrades and rebuilds for V17 LTS.

Been really quiet for about a year now.

Just noticed this conversation. You are right, t's not just Umbraco, the IT market is very weak currently and has been since mid-late 2022. It's improved a little over the last 6 months and many agencies tell me they've seen a slight uptick in activity but it's still very weak historically. Over here in the UK, tax laws have made matters worse.
