The Umbraco backoffice repo before it was merged used to publish to some Azure Static WebApp for the backoffice UI isolted from the backoffice CMS Management APIs. Do any of the lovely HQ gang know @Sebastiaan @Niels Lyngsø or @Jacob Overgaard ? i had a URL like this to one before https://ashy-bay-09f36a803.1.azurestaticapps.net Why?! Well I had the browser devtools open to a URL that had the Umbraco backoffice UI so I could get straight to debugging the DevTools UX, rather than having to navigate manually to some V14+ instance and login etc...

Asked around, this was a few years ago, but it wasn't quite maintainable after a while. I am not sure if there's a good way now to do it, but not sure quite sure who would use it.. pretty easy to spin up an empty site no?

Is it worth to start a discussion about colors in the new backoffice, can you see in a split second what node is protected? I'm not sure it's about color, but I agree that it's about seeing in an instance what is going on with a node. Is it protected? Does it a list view? These overlay icons are not something you see instantly (and I think the list view icon is too big, obscuring the actual icon). Maybe it's fixed with color, maybe it's a change in how it's displayed

Whatever works but now it's just a node to me (smaller) red icon on top would have triggered me that it's a lock

Yeah, maybe colored overlay icons would make it stand out more

I think a red indicating it demand s more attention is fine but that’s a learned behaviour Would greying it out to show it’s locked be a better option

Hi all, and a @UMB.FYI tip I wanted to let you know about a new concept we are trying out: Documenting the third-party dependencies that Umbraco uses in one place. We have chosen to go with an old-fashioned TXT file for ease of use. Our goal is to document all third-party libraries that Umbraco depends directly on. This is done not only to follow common license guidelines telling us to do so, but also to highlight all the various, exotic, and exciting open-source libraries and packages that compiles, tests, and formats the thousands and thousands lines of code into the product that we all love: Umbraco. We may have missed a few dependencies in the file already, but as always looking for contributions in this area as well. Mainly heya! 👋 Finally getting around to using v15 in a bit more depth, I'm seeing some strange translations and UI glitches. Keeping notes, hopefully we can help with some items.

@Sebastiaan - I just saw your comment above about "main" branch instead of Contrib... it is ok to create a PR for a specific version based on their dev branch? It's what I have just done ( based on v15/dev branch ) https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/19438

Yep, but we're not likely to add more things to v15, it will be 16.1. We do accept (bugfixes) for v13 and if something absolutely needs a breaking change for the next major. Currently v16 is in RC, so the next major would be 17. If you need a fix for an LTS version, it will go into the next whatever version we're releasing, which in this case will be 16.1, which I appreciate is a bit of a longer wait (~6 weeks, I believe early July is 16.1).

Hi new here, been creating a custom package here for our agency, one of the things I have ran into in using the default data types is the inability to easily specify Name|Value pairs for the dropdown component. I would gladly contribute to making that work. Is that something that you all would be open to? Thinking just a simple value|Name or value;Name delimiter.

I can't say if they want it, you can make a issue/fr on https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/issues and see if they are open to it, then you could make a PR about it. A lot of other people are using the Contentment plugin.
