Insanity. I actually felt kinda hopeful going into the Musk takeover—when it seemed like it was going to be trimming some fat and re-focus on profitability. But I cannot believe how many bizarre stunts like this it seems like we’ve been hearing about weekly since. Maybe microblogging is just an unsustainable business model as-a-whole. I would feel mixed about it dying as a format, but maybe that’d be a good thing?

I'd probably chalk Twitter's situation more up to mismanagement than to the viability-or-not of microblogging. on the bright side, substack just launched their own microblogging thing haha (which is what prompted this retaliation from Twitter I believe) hopefully substack's thing supports rss. I haven't looked at it yet
