another yakread overhaul

I'm rewriting the entire UI from scratch. super secret work-in-progress here: https://yakread.com/home (notably, you don't need to be signed in to go there)
I'm gonna axe most/all of the "beta" features. e.g. no more recommendation profiles, social media integrations, ebooks, or bookmark integrations. at least for pocket or instapaper. I do want to keep bookmarks in the app, but I'll do it by providing a form on the website + bookmarklet. and eventually browser extensions + mobile apps. there'll be some kind of batch import for ingesting bookmarks from pocket or wherever, but the idea is going forward you just use Yakread's bookmark thing. i might support a bookmarks rss feed for importing bookmarks
for the subscriptions page I'm gonna have a card layout where you can pin + rearrange items, like Google keep. each card shows the most recent unread post for the subscription. the idea is you can make your own "board" thing with your top subscriptions, similarish to the spring 83 thing: https://www.robinsloan.com/lab/specifying-spring-83/
I want to have a similar interface for the bookmarks page
I'll probably spend 2 or 3 weeks implementing everything. I'm putting more effort into the ui and stuff so it's polished. I'd like to get yakread in a "done for now" state so it'd be OK if I don't code on it again for a while. then I go into marketing mode (both for Yakread and for consulting) and do that until either it works or I decide to get a job (and in the job case, I can continue doing marketing at least; it'll just be best if I don't also need to do much coding, hence wanting to get that out of the way now)
sneak peak
maybe once this is done I'll do the "treat yo self" thing and actually get a professional logo done too

The logo isn't bad, and I'm a former designer 🙂
