Yakread pre-release

There's still a bunch more stuff I need to do before switching the new UI on for everyone, and but today I finished adding all the main functionality, so feel free to try out "Yakread 2.0": https://yakread.com/home
Notably, that link is accessible even if you're not signed in.
Other notable stuff: No more separate curated/recent/discover feeds; it's all a single "for you" feed now. The discover algorithm is also much, much better than it was before. I'm quite optimistic about it. As a replacement for the chronological "recent" feed, I've made the subscriptions page very good for "self-directed" reading:
Subscriptions are sorted by the time of their most recent post. If there is at least one unread post, the card gets a teal border on the left (which is, uh, all the cards in that screenshot...). Clicking on one of the cards shows all the posts for that subscription in chronological order:
(similarly, with a teal border for unread items)
When you click on one of the posts, you'll stay on the same page basically, and the article will be displayed at the top. So this whole thing supports a workflow where you go to the subscriptions page, pick one to catch up on, and then read through a bunch of the posts from that sub all in one go:
One more feature I'd like to add: pinned subscriptions. On the top-level subscriptions page, I'll give each subscription card a little button to toggle it's pinned status, like e.g. in google keep:
So you can pick a handful of your favorite subscriptions, and they'll go in a separate group at the top of the page. I'm really looking forward to trying it out, if I actually get some time to do some reading ha ha
(The daily emails will still have a chronological list of new posts from the previous day/last time the email was sent)
One more part of the app that I think is worth highlighting: there's a new share button.
I want to expand that modal and add a section for existing discussions anywhere that's searchable. e.g. a few years ago I might a super simple app that takes a URL and searches for discussions on Hacker News, Twitter, and Reddit: https://github.com/jacobobryant/hallway
So after you hit the share button, you can make a new post/submission for the article, or you can just join one of the existing discussions if there is one, which may be more helpful for boosting the articles reach anyway. Following up on #1101230902513766452 and #1102677560623648908 , I think this may present a workflow for using social media/discussion websites that actually works for me: read stuff on yakread, then join/start discussions for things I read. I think/hope that'll fulfill the need of meeting new people and promoting my own writing in a way that's natural for me. (If so, that seems pretty significant! People can develop relationships on the internet without having to scroll social media!)
Anyway, I'm planning to flip the switch on this ASAP next week, and then during the rest of the week I'll implement as much remaining stuff from my todo list as possible. Starting the following week, I'm switching to marketing yakread + open-source work + looking for clients + probably job search before too long. i.e. it'll be time to make some money, and I'll basically go with whatever works first.
On the marketing yakread front, probably the most significant thing I'll do is submit a Show HN for it. I've had a lot of success with that in the past; e.g. The Sample got 300 subs from a Show HN. I think Yakread could get a lot of interest from HN. It'll also be in a great state for a Show HN since you can poke around the app without having to sign up first. So that might be the final "push"--who knows, if that kickstarts some word-of-mouth and then yakread actually starts growing organically from week to week (an experience I've never had with anything I've built so far), I could possibly justify continuing to work on it full-time.
