hey all! I see the following in the documentation. https://atmos.tools/design-patterns/version-management/vendoring-components#advanced-vendor-configuration specifically:
sources:
    # Vendor multiple versions of the same component
    - component: vpc
      source: "<http://github.com/cloudposse/terraform-aws-vpc.git///?ref={{.Version}}|github.com/cloudposse/terraform-aws-vpc.git///?ref={{.Version}}>"
      targets:
        - path: "vpc/{{.Version}}"
          version: "2.1.0"
        - path: "vpc/latest"
          version: "2.2.0"
Is this still supported?
Error: yaml: unmarshal errors:
line 27: cannot unmarshal !!map into string
line 29: cannot unmarshal !!map into string
line 31: cannot unmarshal !!map into string

We've done a significant amount of refactoring over the last six months, I can't rule out that that didn't affect it. I'll kick off an investigation. And if we reproduce it with tests, we will resolve that ASAP.
also, consider using source provisioning as an alternative
m
yeah looked like a good way to have 1 config for staging / non-prod / prod
hmm i had that before 😄
but your documentation said ... that having the local source and audit etc.
👍 1
and I thought that made sense 😉
e
Yup - all trade offs 😃 Stay tuned.
@MB can you retry with
--use-version 2141
flag
m
That was fast. 😆 It will try in a bit.
works great @Erik Osterman (Cloud Posse)! At least your documentation is correct now 😄 First time I see documentation in place before implementation
One thing I do wonder tho ... I "faked" a version in 1 of the maps, and it did not error and did vendor something. Wondering what version it used. I expected it to error when the version or tag does not exist.
nvm user error 🙈
e
Haha, yes, it's an embarrassing gaff :-) that was overlooked
Glad that worked. We will get it into the next release
m
any idea when that is planned?
e
This week
Cc @Andriy Knysh (Cloud Posse)
Maybe as soon as today
