is there a concept of custom yaml functions? where I can do some crazy stuff to use it to create strings ( inputs for tf) dynamically
but it need to be custom so I can put my logic in it
e
What about !exec
That is what it was designed for
p
that will call a external sctipt
my usecase is a lot simpler
basically:
storage_account_name: >-
    {{ printf "%s%s%s%s%s"
        .vars.namespace
        .vars.env
        .vars.location_short
        .vars.workload
        .vars.tier
      | lower | trunc 24 }}
somthing like that
e
Ok, so you want to save that as an expression that can be reused?
I think you can accomplish that by defining that in
.settings
and referencing it
p
Yes
e
did that work for you?
p
I did not tested yet
this is basically to replace the azure naming module, that is basically a terrible version of the null-label module
