Hello there! I am looking at forking <https://github.com/cloudposse/terraform-aws-ec2-instance-group> into
terraform-linode-instance-group
. I'd love to feed that back into your repo when it's done. Is that desirable from your end, and if so, are there guidelines for making that as smooth as possible?
r
usually we allow single feature improvements through a pr. what improvements are you planning? it sounds like you're going to make a linode specific module repo?
feel free to pr a branch when it's ready :)

Yeah the idea is to take this as-is and make it work for Linode, not AWS
r
we can take all the aws related prs as we are exclusively aws
t
Good to know. So anything not AWS is basically "feel free to fork but it can't live with CloudPosse"
Thanks for the clarification!
r
if we ever branched out to additional clouds, we'd most likely create a separate repo and maintain that like you plan to do
that seems to be the common standard across the terraform ecosystem and that's why most aws specific repos contain that in the name of the repo
t
Yep
This'll be used to spin up first 100 and, when that goes well, 1k instances. AWS pricing for that is a little scary, hence Linode.
